Marshall Bruce Mathers III was his birth name or better known as Eminem when he was 17 but was spelled as M & M initially. A member of the hip-hop group D12 Eminem was born on the 17 the October in 1972, Kansas City, Missouri, USA. Eminem resigned high school when he was in year 9 to pursue his rapping career.
Although he was rejected by most members of rappers because of his race and in order to win the audience he entered into rap battles at Detroit; competition between 2 rappers take turns insulting the other through improvised rap lyrics and became one of the most respected figures in rap history.
His debut album Infinite in 1996 received few good reviews, as comparisons to Nas and AZ became unfavourable. Undaunted, he had been including in his raps and created his alter ego Slim Shady to hide his persona so he can not be afraid to say whatever he felt in his raps.
During the Slim Shady Era he has released his first major album “The Slim Shady LP”. It went on to be the best-selling in early 1999, scoring a massive hit with the single and over the next year, the album went triple platinum.
